Peter Villano

Past

I spent more than 25 years in Government and the U.S. Navy across special operations, technical intelligence, and program management roles.

I have held senior executive appointments with oversight responsibilities in excess of $75 billion for national security programs and activities, including quantum information science R&D.

I authored ground-breaking AI and quantum information science legislation, including the creation and appointment of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence.

I am a recipient of the “Federal 100 Award” from Federal Computer Weekly for advances in cloud computing at the Department of Defense.

Previously, I built, scaled and ran government programs at the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

I am also a former Navy EOD Officer and combat veteran.

Education

I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees from George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University, respectively.

I am a current national security fellow at American University.

And I have previously held fellowships at MIT, George Mason University and the Brookings Institution.
